Shiatsu pressure point massage

Shiatsu is a word meaning 'finger pressure' and is a massage based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The massage is normally done on a mat on the floor, but can also be done on a massage table or a chair. The client remains fully clothed, no oils or creams are used.
The aim of shiatsu is to stimulate the smooth flow of Qi - usually understood to mean 'energy' - as a means to promote health. This is done through stretching, massage and working on specific points. We work the same points that acupuncturists do, but we use our fingers instead.
